The Closing Bell
We’ve installed windmills over in the sales department (and with that kind of windpower, we’ll corner the energy market in no time).
The energy generated by the rest of the Pollstar crew went into bringing you new dates for Medeski Martin & Wood, Chromeo, Atmosphere and Common with N.E.R.D., along with links to stories about getting into sold-out shows, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Una De Luna, classic album covers, Kylie & Dannii and the fourth Jonas.
Overnight Sensation …
We had our crack team of music journalists come in early to write these stories to post over the next three days just in case you can’t get tickets to “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and need something else to do. But don’t tell them that.
Saturday: Golightly Treads Dirt – U.K. indie artist Holly Golightly is launching the album Dirt Don’t Tread in October, followed by a two-month U.S. trek.
Crocs Step Up Third Annual Tour – To start the fall semester off right, Yung Joc and Cartel are headlining the third annual CrocsT Next Step Campus Tour.
Sunday: Sweet Times For Bassnectar – Lorin Ashton and his diverse list of special guests hit 75 markets throughout the U.S. starting next month.
Monday: Philadelphia, London … Anberlin – Sure, Anberlin has been out on the road, like, a lot, but it’s been a while since they’ve had the house to themselves.
Get Your White-Boy Funk OnVans Warped Tour veterans Family Force 5 are about to grow up into sophomores.

Did somebody say party? Electrofunk duo Chromeo knows how to get it started right and they’re headed for Boston, New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
Looks like scoring the cover of Pollstar has more benefits than landing on the cover of some other music mags. Atmosphere has just doubled its itinerary, with new stops including New York City, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Nashville, Milwaukee, Dallas and Chicago.
Common and N*E*R*D* join forces for a September trek. Confirmed cities on the schedule so far include Houston, Los Angeles, Seattle, Las Vegas, Denver and Atlanta.
And with some extra time we found on our staff’s schedules (we banned bathroom breaks – “You should have gone before you left home” is our new policy), we also updated schedules for Oasis, Duffy, Fear Before The March Of Flames, Darker My Love, Toubab Krewe, Justin Nozuka, Dressy Bessy, David Usher, Mest, Michael Buble, Meshuggah, Norm MacDonald and Mike Ness.
Well, looks like we’re gonna have to call it a week. The timer just ran out on the lights and we’re out of quarters.
That’s okay, we’ve got to get home and work on our plans for a couple of other conservation ideas. Anyone know where we can get 50 of those nifty desert survival suits from “Dune”?
