An Excellent Lighting Merger

Lighting and rigging companies Ed & Ted’s Excellent Lighting and Q1 Productions have joined forces to form Epic Production Technologies, with financing from Praesidian Capital and H.I.G. Capital.

Ed & Ted’s, which was founded in Utah by event producer Ted Fowler, United Concerts CEO Jim McNeil and audio company owner Ed Pratt, has worked with clients including Bon Jovi, Blue Man Group and Green Day, among others.

Q1 Productions, founded in Winnipeg, Manitoba, by Marc Raymond and Phil Bernard, has provided lighting, rigging and technical support for productions including Disney’s “The Lion King,” “Showboat” and “Ragtime,” as well as the 1988 Winter Olympic Games closing ceremony.
