The band, which is in reality the duo of Golightly and longtime stand-up bass player Lawyer Dave, is also relocating to backwoods Georgia, where they’ll continue to produce their signature stripped down combo of blues, country and rockabilly – as well as engaging in a few other activities.

“The original idea was to live somewhere rural, easy and warm,” Golightly said. “Georgia is all those things and more.

“For [me], it resembles England enough to feel familiar and for Dave it resembles [his native] Texas enough to keep his gun collection.

“Future plans for the farm include moonshining, recording studio, miniature animal ranching, illegal architecture and founding the one true church.”

Holly Golightly & The Brokeoffs’ 27-city North American trek kicks off November 6 at IOTA Club & Café in Arlington, Va., and wraps December 11 at The Earl in Atlanta.

Stops include New York City, Montreal, Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco, Dallas and Nashville.

Dirt, which hits the streets today, is Golightly’s 19th recording since 1995.

The self-produced album was recorded in five days at a studio on Spain’s northern coast using vintage recording gear.
