Oklahoma Welcomes ACM Branch

Britain’s Academy of Contemporary Music announced Oct. 9 a U.S. version of the noted school has been approved for the University of Central Oklahoma.

 Scott Booker, manager of The Flaming Lips, has been named executive director of the facility to be named ACM@UCO.

The school’s curriculum will include areas such as production, performance, sound engineering and the business side of music. The Oklahoma City facility is expected to open in fall 2009.
