Four Tops’ Stubbs Dies

Levi Stubbs, the lead voice behind a string of hits by the Four Tops, passed away today in Detroit, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Stubbs, 72, died in his sleep at home. The singer had been prevented from performing with the group for some time because of poor health.

Abdul Fakir is now the only surviving original member of the Tops, which scored on the charts with songs like “Baby I Need Your Loving” and “It’s The Same Old Song.”
