Pink Impresses At ARIAs

The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) this year reversed a 10-year policy preventing international acts from performing at its awards.

Awards officials made an exception for Pink, whose 35-date visit in 2007 for Michael Coppel Presents sold 350,000 tickets downunder and set a record for an arena tour by a female artist.

Pink’s dynamic performance had the 10,000-strong audience at Sydney’s Acer Arena on their feet Oct. 19.

There were live sets from Gabriella Cilmi, who won six awards, dance act The Presets, which won two, The Living End, which won best rock album for White Noise, and The Veronicas, which left empty-handed.
