With the help of Alternative Press Magazine, the band has started a contest to find a permanent bassist.

Anyone with a bass and access to a computer can upload a video of themselves burning up the four-string and then submit it to AltPress.com.

Once the band is notified of videos, they’ll review them and call the best players to audition at soundchecks on their tour, which kicked off in Bakersfield, Calif., and wraps November 28 with a homecoming show at The End.

In between, fans of TPS can catch them at places like Emo’s in Austin (October 31), High Ground in Metarie, La. (November 3), Jack Rabbits in Jacksonville, Fla. (November 6), New Brookland Tavern in Columbia, S.C. (November 11), J.C. Dobbs in Philadelphia (November 15), Diesel Club Lounge in Pittsburgh (November 20) and The Basement in Columbus, Ohio (November 24).

Several cities on the tour will be included in live voting and the highest-rated contestant will play live during the band’s show that night.

The winner will be announced in Alternative Press at the conclusion of the trek.
