The guitar-slinging songstress, who married rodeo star Ty Murray in August, topped country charts for the first time in June with the record’s release and a breakthrough single, “Stronger Woman.”

The former folkie has had a busy year “branding” herself as a country star, including a summer trek with Brad Paisley and Julianne Hough, sitting in as a judge on NBC’s “Nashville Star” and eloping to the Bahamas with Murray.

The effort continues in 2009, as Jewel launches a winter tour Jan. 23 at Casino Windsor in Ontario, then heading south of the (Canadian) border for more than a dozen shows, with more to be announced shortly.

Other stops for the Grammy-winning songbird include the Soaring Eagle in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. (Jan. 24); Midland Theatre in Kansas City, Mo. (Jan. 28); Osage Casino in Tulsa, Okla. (Jan. 29); American Music Theatre in Lancaster, Pa. (Feb. 4); Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Conn. (Feb. 6) and Borgata Music Box in Atlantic City, N.J. (Feb. 7).
