Details, which hit the streets this week, was recorded in a marathon Pro Tools session with Ogre’s longtime creative foil Mark Walk as “a single musical statement” that was then chopped into 11 tracks.
The album may be a surprise to fans of Skinny Puppy because it displays Ogre’s diabolical sense of fun filtered through “a bouyant, at times even joyous slab of transcendent electro-skuzz, scuffed up eeriness and sci-fi psych(o)-industrial.”
To reproduce the project’s sound Ogre will hit the road with a live lineup that includes SP alumni like guitarist William Morrison and drummer Justin Bennett. The singer also promises “new stage technology and chaos magicians.”
We’re not really sure what the heck a “chaos magician” is. Guess we’ll just have to take in a show and find out.
As a preview of the deviant fun, we offer for your listening pleasure “Timebomb,” a cut from the new album.
