Sly Stone’s reputation for unpredictable and sometimes bizarre behavior is apparently still in effect according to a review in the Bohemian about his Oct. 18 concert in Santa Rosa, Calif. – his first appearance in the Bay Area in decades.
Not only was the reclusive star extremely late in arriving at the Wells Fargo Center, he reportedly walked off stage about 25 minutes into the set, telling the crowd, “I gotta go take a piss. I’ll be right back.”
He never returned, leaving the Family Stone to fill the obvious gap their disappearing frontman created. The fans reportedly left the venue before the band members decided to wrap up the several songs they played without Stone.
