Promoters Warn Over Adelaide Centre

Some of Australia’s top promoters – including Michael Coppel, Paul Dainty, Michael Gudinski and Michael Chugg – warned the South Australia government that Adelaide could miss out on international tours unless the Entertainment Centre was upgraded.

Plans were to give the venue a $50 million upgrade to be finished by 2010, but with the current economic climate, the government postponed many major projects.

A report by a parliamentary committee predicted that the AEC would more than triple its annual revenue to $647,000 if the upgrade goes ahead.
