Jeezy, What A Party
A private afterparty at Otto’s Nite Club and Underground turned into a 20-minute melee, according to the college’s Northern Star newspaper. Multiple fights reportedly broke out inside and outside the club. Police entered the club after seeing fights outside and people leaving in a hurry, according to the Star. Donte Moore, 21, of Chicago was arrested for allegedly breaking a bottle over the head of a bouncer. Another man was expected to be arrested for disorderly conduct, police told the paper.
People were throwing bottles and hitting each other with them, a bartender said. He was hit in the face while another employee had a gash under his eye. He estimated about 10 to 15 staff members tried to break up the fight.
“I’m probably never going to work as a bouncer again because of this,” Mike Cabaj told the Star.
Otto’s general manager Joseph Karson said he wouldn’t describe the fight at the “unofficial afterparty” as a “huge brawl,” instead telling the paper there were no more than 10 people fighting at any given moment.
“It’s important to look at the numbers,” Karson said, noting the club’s 650 capacity. “The number of people was not an issue.”
