Craig Redden Dies

Craig Redden, an industry veteran with Epic Production Technologies, died of an apparent massive heart attack Nov. 20 while in Los Angeles.

He was 52.

Redden got his start in the concert industry after moving to Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada to pursue a career in psychiatric patient care and meeting friends that asked him to help out with sound and lights for an upcoming gig.

After years spent teching every kind of event in North America, including the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics Closing Ceremonies, he joined Q1 Production Technologies as Vice President Rentals in 2002, focusing on U.S. and International business growth. He also worked on major tour and event projects, in particular, the annual dual-coast Trans-Siberian Orchestra tours.

He had recently taken on the title of Vice President Concert Touring with the merger of Q1 and Ed & Ted’s Excellent Lighting.

Redden is survived by his wife and their two children, as well as his sisters and his brother and their families.

A private family funeral is planned for Dec. 8 with a memorial service celebrating Redden’s life later that evening at Winnipeg’s Burton Cummings Theatre. Details are available on the Epic Production Technologies Web site at epicpt.com.
