Security Complaints At Tull Concert
Patrons complained that security staff was inconsistent as to who and what items were checked at the entrances to Hamsadhwani Amphitheatre, according to New Delhi Television.
One Delhi-based journalist who attended the concert, which reportedly attracted about 5,000 fans, told the news station that security was “shockingly lax.”
“There was almost no security at all. We stood in the queue to enter the stadium, but when we finally came to the entrance, the search was barely customary,” he said. “There was no frisking at all. They looked at my bag for a split second.”
Jethro Tull and Shankar dedicated the two-hour concert – part of the five-city 100 Pipers Pure Music tour – to those who lost their lives in the three-day siege in Mumbai.
The duo’s Mumbai concert, scheduled at Shanmukhananda Auditorium for Nov. 29, was canceled but the tour continued on to Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad the following week.
