Pretenders Break Up North America

To coincide with the release of its ninth album, Break Up The Concrete, The Pretenders have lined up an extensive North American tour with dates from January through March.

The tour begins at The Palace Theatre in Albany, N.Y., Jan. 29 and winds down at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino in Reno, Nev. March 14.

Additional stops include Roseland Ballroom in New York (Jan. 30), Orpheum Theatre in Boston (Feb. 4), Electric Factory in Philadelphia (Feb. 6), Taft Theatre in Cincinnati (Feb. 13), and two nights at Northern Lights Theater in Milwaukee (Feb. 17-18).

There’s also dates at First Avenue in Minneapolis (Feb. 20), Ameristar Hotel & Casino in Kansas City, Mo. (Feb. 21), Paramount Theatre in Denver (Feb. 24), Belly Up Aspen in Aspen, Colo. (Feb. 25), House of Blues in Houston (Feb. 28) and Stubb’s Bar-B-Q / Waller Creek in Austin, Texas (March 1).

The tour continues on west with shows at Dodge Theatre in Phoenix, Ariz. (March 4), House Of Blues in San Diego (March 5), House Of Blues in Las Vegas (March 7), The Wiltern in Los Angeles (March 10) and The Fillmore in San Francisco (March 13).

Rolling Stone said Break Up The Concrete, which was released in October, is “The best Pretenders album in years.” The album was recorded in 12 days in Los Angeles and includes the single “Boots of Chinese Plastic,” which hit #1 on the AAA radio chart.
