Country star George Strait is well on his way to lining up a full calendar of live shows in 2009, with dates on the books already through mid-summer.

The singer will kick off May 9 in the Rio Grande Valley in Hidalgo, Texas, and celebrate the 10th anniversary of the city’s Dodge Arena.

The King of Country’s itinerary will also take him to the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion in Raleigh, N.C. (May 16), Post-Gazette Pavilion in Burgettstown, Pa. (May 23), Nissan Pavilion at Stone Ridge in Bristow, Va. (June 13), Milwaukee’s Summerfest (June 29), Calgary Stampede in Alberta (July 11), Usana Amphitheatre in Salt Lake City (July 17) and First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, Ill., (July 25).
