Times Square’s 2009 Blast Builds

New Year’s Eve at Times Square was already ripe with musical stars but now it even has a Lionel Richie sighting.

Richie will join Taylor Swift and the Jonas Brothers to ring in 2009 on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.” All three acts are expected to perform live on the ABC broadcast, which begins at 10 p.m Dec. 31.

Also announced to perform are Natasha Bedingfield, Fall Out Boy, Jesse McCartney, Ne-Yo, Pussycat Dolls, Solange and Robin Thicke.

The performances are during the Hollywood Party segments, hosted by Fergie.
