New York City rockers The Walkmen have apparently decided to spend at least part of the winter in warmer climes.

The band will hit the West Coast for a handful of dates in support of latest release You and Me, beginning with a Jan. 19 show at Belly Up Tavern near San Diego.

Opening duties for the trek will be handled by Baltimore duo Beach House.

You and Me was written and recorded by The Walkmen over a two-year period, during which time members split their time between an old nightclub in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City and a warehouse in the Fish Town area of Philadelphia.

The disc has drawn considerable critical acclaim since its release and landed a spot on NPR’s “World Café” Top 10 list of the year’s best albums.
