Zakk Is Black Again

Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde will hit the road in the U.S. with his band Black Label Society this spring, the band’s first American run since 2007.

So far, the first leg of the Black Label Bash Tour, which also features Sevendust, kicks off March 7 at The New Oasis in Sparks, Nev.

Other confirmed stops include McMenamins Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Ore. (March 11), Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg, Manitoba (March 21), The Rave Eagles Club in Milwaukee (March 27), Zoo Entertainment Complex in Pittsburgh (April 1), Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City (April 10), Rams Head Live! in Baltimore (April 15), Warehouse Live in Houston (April 21) and Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Okla. (April 26).

In other BLS news, the band is expected to release a hits package this spring, with a new studio album slated for release in late 2009.

Wylde has also recorded a cover of Stevie Nicks’ “Leather and Lace” with Gretchen Wilson for a country compilation CD due in the spring. He reportedly met with Ozzy in September to discuss the Prince of Darkness’ new album.
