McGraw For Governor Just Hype

There’s no truth to the rumor that country star Tim McGraw is planning on running for governor of Tennessee – at least not in the near future, according to his publicist.

Spokesman Jesse Schmidt said an article in The New Republic that reported the singer is “seriously considering” a gubernatorial run in 2010 was jumping the gun.

McGraw, who is married to Faith Hill, would rather wait until his children are grown and his music career slows down before jumping into the political arena, Schmidt explained.

Besides, McGraw is more than a tad busy. He already has summer concert dates on the books, and co-stars in the comedy “Four Christmases” that hit theatres in November.
