Dates, Dates & More Dates …

We start this section tonight with a shout-out to those Canadian road dogs known as the Stampeders. Today Rich Dodson and company updated with new dates in the Great White North, including March 7 in Calgary, Alberta, at Pengrowth Saddledome; March 28 in Richmond, British Columbia, at Richmond Community Centre; June 11 in Truro, Nova Scotia, at Marigold Cultural Centre; June 14 in Sackville, New Brunswick, at Veterans Memorial Civic Centre and June 30 in Midland, Ontario, at Midland Centennial Arena.

Speaking of road dogs, that perpetual touring machine that goes by the name Willie Nelson adds more dates to the 2009 touring calendar. Stops for the Redheaded Stranger now include March 12 in Hollywood, Florida, at Seminole Hard Rock Live; March 20 in Choctaw, Mississippi, at Pearl River Resort / Silver Star and March 21 in Marksville, Louisiana, at Mari Center.

Smooth jazz guitarist Craig Chaquico adds a few California dates for March and April. New on Mr. Chaquico’s schedule is March 13 in Livermore at Bankhead Theater; April 3 in Agora Hills at Canyon Club and April 4 in San Juan Capistrano at The Coach House.

And we have a few new 2009 stops for Lucinda Williams. On March 8 Ms. Williams plays the Paramount Center For The Arts in Peeksville, New York. April 2 puts her in Melbourne, Australia, at Hamer Hall, and April 7 finds her still in Australia, but the city is Newtown, and the venue is Enmore Theatre.

During the day we also updated the schedules for Mel Tillis, Larry Coryell, Monty Alexander, Omar Sosa, Pat Travers, Randy Weston’s African Rhythms, Randy Crouch, REO Speedwagon, STS9 (Sound Tribe Sector 9), The Gourds, TSOL, Wayne “The Train” Hancock, Hiromi plus thousands and thousands of artists, bands and organ grinders (with and without monkeys).
