Scotland Honors AC/DC

AC/DC launched its career in Sydney but Scotland has always laid a claim to the band.

Guitarists Angus and Malcolm Young were born in Glasgow before their parents moved downunder in 1963, while Scottish-born Bon Scott sported a “Scotland Forever” tattoo and played bagpipes on the classic “It’s A Long Way To The Top.”

South of Scotland MSP Christine Grahame lodged a parliamentary motion calling for acknowledgement of AC/DC’s Scottish roots as inspiration for Scottish musicians.

It also calls for an official welcome when the band play Glasgow’s Hampden Park this year.
