The trek kicks off Jan. 23 at World Café Live in Philadelphia and wraps Feb. 13 at Denver’s Paramount Theatre.

In between, frontman Nick Urata and his “troupe of musical mutts, miracles and miscreants” will drop in on places like Belly Up Aspen in Colorado (Jan. 27), The Fillmore in San Francisco (Jan. 30), Viper Room in West Hollywood, Calif. (Feb. 2); Rialto Theatre in Tucson, Ariz. (Feb. 6), and Warehouse Live in Houston (Feb. 9).

DeVotchKa began life as a backing band for burlesque shows, even touring with genre star Dita Von Teese.

Following the release of 2004’s How It Ends, the group was approached by the makers of Academy Award-winning film “Little Miss Sunshine” about contributing old and new material to the soundtrack.

The exposure helped make the band’s follow-up, 2008’s Telling, a success with critics and fans, landing the title track from Ends in several films and the commercial for the highly-anticipated X-Box game “Gears of War 2.”
