‘I Kissed A Girl’ Not That Great

Katy Perry climbed the steps to accept the prize for best international song at the NRJ Awards in Cannes, France, Jan. 17, but it was Rihanna’s song “Disturbia” playing instead of Perry’s hit “I Kissed A Girl.” Oops.

Turns out the mistake wasn’t the song playing but the girl on stage – a mistake was made in vote counting and Rihanna was really the winner, according to BBC News.

Perry, who performed at the show, didn’t go home empty handed though, walking away with the best international album for One Of The Boys.

Other performers included Akon, Seal, Duffy and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

Britney Spears won international female artist of the year and best video for “Womanizer.” Enrique Iglesias won top international male artist and The Pussycat Dolls were awarded best international group. Jonas Brothers won international revelation and Christopher Mae took home best French male and best French song.

Listeners of NRJ, a national French radio station, determine the award winners.
