Let The Sunshine In

California’s Delta Spirit is gearing up to hit the road behind its self-produced and -recorded debut, “Ode To Sunshine.”

The band’s trek kicks off Feb. 4 at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco and will focus on clubs in the U.S. with one Canadian stop thrown in for good measure.

Stops on the schedule include Doug Fir Lounge in Portland, Ore. (Feb. 5), Kilby Court in Salt Lake City (Feb. 10), 7th Street Entry in Minneapolis (Feb. 13), Brillobox in Pittsburgh (Feb. 17), Bowery Ballroom in New York City (Feb. 21), Drunken Unicorn in Atlanta (Feb. 25), Emo’s in Austin (Feb. 28) and Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, Calif. (March 6).

Sunshine, which was released in August on Rounder Records, was recorded while the band was holed up in a cabin in the mountains near its hometown of San Diego.

The album’s combination of indie rock, Americana and soul has earned Delta Spirit a slew of great reviews from publications like the Wall Street Journal, Chicago Sun-Times, Boston Globe and the Los Angeles Times, which called it “a soulful slice of Americana that is more Deep South than West Coast sunshine.”
