No. 8 With A Bisco
If the best surprise is no surprise, Camp Bisco fans will be happy to learn the summer romp in the woods hits its eighth year at the same place as last year – Indian Lookout Country Club in Mariaville, New York, July 16-18.
Holding an event like Camp Bisco at a country club means this isn’t your ordinary summer music festival. For one thing, the grounds come complete with real bathrooms, including flush toilets, showers and 24/7 bathroom attendants. There’s also a general store the event touts as selling “almost every necessity for a comfortable and carefree experience, including alcohol.”
And if the general store doesn’t interest you, there’s also a full bar on the site.
And the lineup? Well, Camp Bisco VIII hasn’t announced this year’s bands and artists, but if past Camps are any indication, expect a variety of styles and genres. Past Camps have featured Snoop Dogg, Thievery Corporation, The Roots, STS9 (Sound Tribe Sector 9), Bassnectar and MSTRKRFT.
Plus, 15 cents of every ticket sold will help benefit Trees For The Future, an organization that has been the steward of planting trees throughout the world. Camp Bisco will also work with Headcount – a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization devoted to voter registration.
Finally, there are BE-Green ticket upgrades, which are sold for an additional $2.50. Money raised by BE-Green upgrades will be used to offset carbon emissions through the use of renewable energy resources.
Camp Bisco is promoted by MCP Presents. Early bird tickets go on sale Jan. 29 for a limited time and will cost $115. VIP packages are also available for an additional $225 per ticket purchase. Tickets will be available at CampBisco.net and 1-800-594-TIXX (8499).
