The newest edition to the House of Blues chain is expected to open in Boston Feb. 20, taking the place of the Avalon, Axis and Modern nightclubs.

The venue will hold more than 2,400 people and includes the music hall plus a restaurant, Foundation Room for VIPs and gift shop. The Gipsy Kings are booked for the debut.

The Avalon and Axis became the Lansdowne Street Music Hall but were set to reopen before nightlife impresario Patrick Lyons sold the property to House of Blues parent company Live Nation, according to the Boston Globe.

The 53,000-square-foot building near Fenway Park is expected to host up to 300 shows a year, significantly more than what the former nightclubs provided.
