Comstock Founder Sentenced

The founder of the Comstock music festivals was sentenced Jan. 22 to probation instead of jail for writing bad checks to vendors involved in his events last summer.

Henry Nuxoll, who previously promoted Godstock, Comstock Rock and Comstock Windmill festivals, was sentenced to four years’ probation on a felony charge in Cass County District Court in Broken Bow, Neb. He was facing up to 20 years in prison.

Nuxoll pleaded no contest Dec. 4 and agreed to pay nearly $100,000 in restitution under an agreement that stipulates he won’t be prosecuted for any other bad checks written before Dec. 4.
