Hicks hasn’t changed in four decades. He’s still cool and mellow, with dry humor and a mess of complicated guitar chords. The new album includes David Grisman, Charlie Musselwhite and Roy Rogers playing on Hicks’ signature swing.

Hicks and the Hot Licks are expected to take off to Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, Calif., March 25, where they plan to play new songs, Hicks classics (like maybe the one our headline is named after) and a couple of covers.

They visit Los Angeles, New York, and Sellersville, Pa., among other markets. Dates are confirmed through April 11 in Church, Va., but more are expected.

Grisman is expected to join Hicks & The Hot Licks when stop at Yoshi’s San Francisco March 28.
