Want to buy a seven-night package to the Oscars for $175,000? The Academy doesn’t want you to, either.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences filed a federal lawsuit Jan. 26 against McMurry Inc., a Phoenix-based company that claims it is selling tickets to the upcoming Oscars festivities in Los Angeles.
McMurry plans to sell at least four packages that promise pampering and a strut down the red carpet, according to the Academy’s lawsuit. Unfortunately, Oscar tickets are not transferable, a policy the Academy implements to keep out stalkers, terrorists, soy bombs and streakers.
