Jones crossed paths at the boutique with Ne-Yo and a friend of the hip-hop star, Jayvon Smith, Dec. 22 and was later caught on a surveillance camera in the store “hitting and kicking” Smith, according to the New York Daily News.

Smith filed suit for $7 million, claiming he was punched in the face “causing redness, swelling and substantial pain,” the News reported.

Jones and his lawyer downplayed Smith’s charges, claiming the allegations were “what you’d call an expensive inconvenience.”

Jones, who was arraigned and freed without bail, heads back to court March 24.
