The May 2 performance marks the band’s return to Louisiana after donating $1 million to build 28 homes for low-income families displaced in 2005 by Hurricane Katrina.

“I’m thrilled,” Jazzfest producer Quint Davis said. “That really says something about this group’s sense of humanity and responsibility. It says that they’re unique and extraordinary, that they have a spirit and soul … to be that generous.”

Bon Jovi joins other stellar acts that day including Dr. John, Kings of Leon, The O’Jays, Cowboy Mouth, John Mayall, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Aaron Neville and dozens of other artists from the Ninth Ward Mardi Gras Indians performers to the Crocodile Gumboot Dancers of South Africa and Ori Culture Danse Club of Benin.

Artists continue to be added to the festival roster, including Pete Seeger, Julian Marley and Esperanza Spalding.

The highly-anticipated day-to-day schedule has been released and can be found online at www.nojazzfest.com.
