Fire officials said the blaze started at about 11:30 p.m. and caused about $400,000 in damage to the building and about $100,000 damage to the contents. The singer and his family managed to escape without injury, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

“I’m at a complete loss for words,” Russo said in a statement. “My entire family is now homeless, all of our pets are dead and all of our earthly possessions are gone.”

The performer doesn’t have home insurance so the band is planning a benefit concert to help with expenses.
