Promoter Sues Lil’ Wayne

A promoter in New York state is suing Lil’ Wayne for $1.3 million in compensation after the rapper canceled three concerts in four months.

Edward Strickland of RMF Productions reportedly filed the hefty lawsuit against Lil’Wayne, his management and others after the twice-rescheduled show at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester Jan. 21 was scrapped via e-mail.

Strickland contends he advanced Lil’ Wayne $100,000 but got nothing in return.

Lil’ Wayne was originally scheduled for an Oct. 26 concert at the arena but pulled out of the gig, allegedly blaming an inadequate sound system. The concert was rescheduled for Dec. 6 but didn’t happen because it coincided with rehearsal for his “I Am Music” tour.

The last straw was the Jan. 21 cancellation, made allegedly because of “logistics of the band.”
