Def Leppard is fast becoming a summer concert staple. During the past two years the band has hooked up with the likes of Styx, REO Speedwagon and Journey for amphitheatre fun across North America.

And this year is no different as the band announces its summer trek with Poison and Cheap Trick bumping up the pleasure factor.

Right now the routing adds up to 39 dates – starting June 23 at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ, and running through September 6 at San Manuel Amphitheatre near San Bernardino.

While the lineup represents three of the biggest bands of the 1980s, the technology is pure 2009. Expect Bluetooth tech at each show with connections available before and during each night’s gig. The band is promising a “fully interactive concert experience” so loosen up those thumbs. Like to text your friends during a concert to tell them what they’re missing? This one’s for you.

“I’m very pleased that we are coming back to North America,” said Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott. “We’re gonna be touring with some new friends and some old friends and can guarantee it will be the Rock Tour of the summer.”
