Jackson Browne launched the tour supporting his latest album – Time The Conquerer – in the U.S. last September. Since then Browne has played Europe and last week began a run of dates Down Under, including New Zealand on February 25 and Australia on February 27 & 28. Browne continues his Australian tour with a performance at the Sydney Entertainment Center tonight, and stops in Melbourne, Townsville, Cairns and Perth before he closes the Australia chapter of his tour in Adelaide on March 15.

Newly listed summer stops include July 7 & 8 in Orillia, Ontario, at Casino Rama; July 19 in Boston at the BofA Pavilion; August 6 in Atlanta at Chastain Park; August 12 in Los Angeles at the Greek Theatre; August 25 in Park City, Utah, at Deer Valley Resort and August 31 in St. Paul at the Minnesota State Fair.

Presented as “An Evening With,” Browne’s band includes his band of 15 years as well as two newcomers – vocalists Chavonne Morris and Alethea Mills. The two singers met Browne when they were still in high school and were singing with Fred Martin & The Levite Camp.

What’s more, a few dates will include some very special guests. Look for Shawn Colvin performing an opening set in Gilford, New Hampshire, on July 16 and the Boston gig on July 19, and Steve Earle warming up the crowds in Canandaigua, New York, on August 1 and Camden, New Jersey, on August 2.

This is one of those tours that began on a high note and just got better with each night’s performance. Of Browne’s opening night gig last fall, The Washington Post wrote:

“The new material demonstrated that Browne, just a few weeks shy of 60, still has a terrific touch… Browne thanked the audience for having indulged him. He needn’t have: The pleasure was ours.”
