A spokesman for the troubled singer says she will not appear at the annual event “due to current legal issues.”

Legal issues? Amy Winehouse? Where does one begin?

Probably best to start with the most recent. The Grammy-winner’s latest run-in with the law was last week when she was charged with assaulting a fan during London’s End of Summer Ball in September.

Now the U.S. government is denying the singer a work visa, according to the U.K.’s Times.

Last year the U.S. government originally declined from issuing Winehouse a visa to attend the Grammy Awards. Although that decision was eventually reversed, the change occurred much too late for Winehouse to attend the event, forcing the performer to accept her five awards via satellite.

But fighting off the most recent assault charge is only one of several issues. The singer is also going through a divorce from incarcerated hubby Blake Fielder-Civil, who filed for divorce, citing “adultery.”
