The Pixies continue to reap the rewards of a decade of fan devotion at Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Promoter John Giddings announced the Pixies’ appearance today on the festival’s Web site:

“It was hard to think of someone capable of complementing the musical talent of Neil Young but once I had the idea it was blindingly obvious and it will surely be a legendary day on the Isle of Wight.”

With the Pixies occupying a slot on the the three-day shebang, the Isle of Wight Festival schedule shows The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx, The Ting Tings and Pendulum on June 12; Stereophonics, Kelly Jones, Razorlight, Jessie Evans, The Arcadian Kicks and Deborah Hodgson on June 13 and Neil Young, Pixies and The Charlatans on June 14.

Right now the Pixies appearance is the only date on the band’s calendar. But concert dates, especially festival dates, are often like snacking on potato chips – it’s hard to stop at just one.
