Have You Seen U2’s Stage?

There’s 3-D animation of the stage for U2’s upcoming 360° Tour. One thing is for certain – it will definitely be the biggest structure in the stadium.

Like the 360° description in the tour’s title, the stage itself is circular and is almost completely encircled by another ring – Bono’s runway so he can walk deeply into the audience on the field. A break in the runway allows concert goers to move into the “inner ring” of the setup.

But it’s what’s above the stage that will catch your eye. Utilizing the 3-D animation’s multiple angles, a bird’s eye view of the stage shows what looks like a large rectangular grid suspended by four monstrous “legs” that stand between the lower stage and the stadium seats.  The grid features a pyramid-like structure resembling a radio tower on top, while video screens hang from the bottom.

Oh, and did we say the entire structure is huge? Really, really, big. Almost as big as Bono’s need to save entertain the world.

But don’t take our word for it. Check it out yourself at 360.u2.com, and then come back here and tell us what you think.
