Wentz, Pink Big At OZ Awards

Singer Ashlee Simpson-Wentz made a surprise appearance at the MTV Australia awards, held March 27 in Sydney.

Her husband, Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy, was hosting the event at the Darling Harbour Convention Centre. She gave him a passionate kiss and told the audience, “Sorry, we haven’t seen each other in a while. So we’re going to find a quiet place to go fornicate.”

Wentz jammed with Vanilla Ice on “Ice Ice Baby,” stage-dived as Kaiser Chiefs performed and won best rock video for Fall Out Boy’s “I Don’t Care.”

Also playing live were Kings Of Leon (broadcast by satellite from their sold-out show in Auckland), The Killers, Wolfmother, teen singer Jessica Maubray and The Fray.

Among the wins were Pink’s “So What” (best video), T.I. featuring Rihanna (best collaboration), Britney Spears (best moves) and The Ian Carey Project’s “Get Shaky” (dance video).
