To simplify the process, the band has decided to turn to the public for help in deciding what to play.

Fans can visit XTheBand.com, choose a show on X’s upcoming X-TRL tour, pick their five favorite songs and keep track of the voting.

The tour will run in two legs, with the first beginning April 9 at McMenamins Crystal Ballroom in Portalnd, Ore., and wrapping April 19 with a set at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.

The second leg kicks off May 26 at Paradise Rock Club in Boston and wind down June 23 at The Cabooze in Minneapolis.

The band will also make a detour to the U.K. in May for an appearance at All Tomorrow’s Parties, marking the first time the original X lineup will play in Europe in more than 25 years.

In addition to giving fans input on the set list, X is also giving them a chance to get up close and personal by teaming with the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund to offer tickets and meet & greet passes to raise funds for charity. Ticket packages will be auctioned on eBay and will be available for bidding two to three weeks prior to each show. Each ten-day auction will be posted on eBay at Ebay.com/Sweetrelief.

Sweet Relief Musicians Fund is a Los Angeles-based national charity which provides financial assistance to musicians who are struggling to make ends meet while facing illness, disability or age-related problems.
