Colorado Shooting Stirs Rap Ban

A family entertainment center in Colorado Springs, Colo., has banned rap concerts after a recent shooting outside the venue following an E-40 concert left one dead.

While police and security presence was reportedly ramped up for the show at Mr. Biggs Event Center, a man was shot several times after the concert while sitting inside his car in a parking lot near the venue, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette. He died at a local hospital.

This isn’t the first time an E-40 concert in the region has ended with shots fired. Five people were injured during a shooting outside a Denver club Dec. 27.

Mr. Biggs owner Steve Bigari told the paper the center will conduct a review of previous shows to determine if other any other genres could present security risks.

“Nothing like this will ever happen again in the future, not on my watch,” Bigari said.

The Mr. Biggs Event Center is in the same building as Mr. Biggs Family Fun Center, which features a bowling alley, miniature golf and a video arcade among its attractions.
