Come South And SeeMe Some Time

The fourth South East European Music Event (SeeMe) in Bulgaria will discuss why the region’s festivals have become so popular with the public.

The annual gathering at the Central Military Club in Sofia (June 4-6) has become like an ILMC for the Balkan club market, addressing the same issues as similar live music industry conferences.

Now in its fourth year, the event has gained the patronage of Bulgarian Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev, who supports its aim of trying to position the country’s capital as the hub of creative potential in the region and to connect it with the best scenes that Europe and the world can offer.

SeeMe was conceived to create a connection between industry professionals in the region. The delegate mix includes DJs, producers, club promoters, label managers, industry professionals and dance music fans.

It’s the second year that SeeMe has run its own awards ceremony, recognising Balkan talent and the people who help develop it.

The festival that runs alongside the conference is at Sofia Central rail station, where there are main, live, experimental and urban stages. But it also spills out into clubs in Sofia and Plovdiv, the country’s second-largest city and about 90 miles north of the capital.
