Hallett Named Promoter Of Year

AEG Live International Touring president Rob Hallett is Promoter Of The Year, according to the select group of professionals who pick the winners of the Music Week awards.

Hallett’s recent tours include Backstreet Boys, Kanye West, Bon Jovi, Leonard Cohen, Nitin Sawhney, Alicia Keys, Madness and Bruce Springsteen.

“I am delighted to win this award not just for myself but the entire team at AEG Live which, I believe, are the best in the business,” Hallett said as he collected his gong at the magazine’s award ceremony at London Grosvenor House April 9.

The other live category, music venue of the year, went to the O2 Brixton Academy, one of the recently re-branded venues owned and run by Academy Music Group.

The magazine, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, recognised a wide range of music business execs and labels including Island Records founder Chris Blackwell (U.K. music executive of the past 50 years).

Alison Wenham received a special achievement award for her 10 years at AIM, while publisher of the year was shared by EMI and Universal.
