Brian Welch’s Head Case

Brian “Head” Welch, the former lead guitarist for Korn who gave up life in the fast lane for a life with God, is hitting the road.

It was early 2005 when Korn’s management announced Welch’s departure, but that doesn’t mean the guitar slinger has stopped rocking out. His solo album – Save Me From Myself – was released in September on his Driven Music Group label.

Now it’s time for Head to take his own band on the road for a few gigs. Of course, Welch will be playing slightly smaller venues than the ones he played back in the Korn days.

Look for Welch to begin a short tour on May 14 in Colorado Springs at The Black Sheep.

Two nights later Welch hits Farmington, N.M., for a show at Gator’s Bar & Grill and May 18 puts him in Lubbock for a gig at Tequila Jungle.

Other stops include Dallas at The Door (May 19); San Antonio at the Scout Bar (May 21); Tomball, TX, at Salem Auditorium (May 22) and Abilene, TX, at Midnite Rodeo 3.

Welch will also appear on the main stage at the Cornerstone Festival in Bushnell, Ill., on July 2 and is scheduled to play the Thomas & Mack Arena in Las Vegas sometime during August.

“We can’t wait to get out there this summer and play tons of shows – from small clubs to huge arenas,” Welch said. “It’s all good to me because I haven’t been on stage in over four years. Me and the guys are ready to kill it this summer!”
