Country Singer Gosdin Dies

Vern Gosdin, 74, the singer/songwriter of “Set ‘Em Up Joe” and “I Can Tell By The Way You Dance (You’re Gonna Love Me),” reportedly died in Nashville April 29.

Gosdin suffered a “pretty bad stroke” about three weeks prior, his administrative assistant, Dawn Hall, told the Tennessean.

Gosdin had several Top 10 country hits in the ’70s and performed live throughout the last decade.

His recording of “Chiseled in Stone” won the CMA’s song of the year in 1989, the paper noted.
