Fox Pomona In Business

Developers Ed and Jerry Tessier of Arteco Partners, promoter Perry Tollett and a host of supporters are seeing a dream come true with the reopening of the Fox Theatre in Pomona, Calif., following a two-year renovation project.

The 1930s-era Art Deco facility hosted a sold-out April 18 fundraiser featuring Carol Channing to showcase the venue’s return to glamour, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The facility, featuring a 2,000-capacity theatre, bar and lounge, ballroom, rooftop terrace and restaurant, has Gogol Bordello scheduled as its first concert May 21.
Pepper / Pennywise, Reik and Wilco are also on the books through June 20.

The Tessiers and Tollett – older brother to Goldenvoice’s Paul Tollett and himself a longtime SoCal promoter – purchased the theatre, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, from the city in 2007 for $1.6 million.

Federal tax credits and other financing incentives reportedly made the approximately $10 million restoration job a reality, the Times said.
