Jam Cruise 8 The Great

Featuring an artist lineup so heavy it would sink an ordinary ocean liner, Jam Cruise 8 is set to depart Fort Lauderdale January 3 for five incredible days and nights of live music on the Caribbean.

STS9 (Sound Tribe Sector 9), The Word feat. John Medeski, North Mississippi Allstars and Robert Randolph, Zappa Plays Zappa, Galactic, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and Maceo Parker are just a few of the bands and artists scheduled to set sail from Port Everglades on the good ship MSC Poesia.

Other lineup notables include Dark Star Orchestra, JJ Grey & Mofro, Railroad Earth, Steve Kimock’s Crazy Engine and Lotus.

But that’s still only the short list of a lineup that would be spectacular for any land-bound festival, let alone a cruise ship.

In addition to what amounts to a 24-hour, 5-day jam blast on the ocean, there’s also ports of call Ocho Rios in Jamaica and St. George on Cayman Islands where you can hike, snorkel and scuba to your heart’s content.
