The duo, Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle, are scheduled to perform in Antwerp, Belgium, at the Night of the Proms festival which pairs pop stars with a full orchestra.

A message from the band on the festival’s Web site reads:

“We are thrilled to finally be able to attend Night of the Proms. It’s gonna be the first time we share a live stage together since 2001 and it certainly feels most exciting to do it in front of a huge Night of the Proms audience. We look forward to performing some of our greatest hits and working together with the big Night of the Proms orchestra, which should fit our music very well.”

Roxette was set to headline Night of the Proms in 2001, but Fredriksson collapsed the night before a press conference for the event. A subsequent trip to the hospital revealed a brain tumor which was later successfully removed.

Although the pair has continued to work together occasionally, releasing the tracks “One Wish” in 2006 and “Reveal” in 2007, they never performed together live until now.

Published reports say the band will play a number of Night of the Proms dates in The Netherlands and Germany, but only the Belgium show is confirmed so far.
