SPOONX3 Fest

Love Spoon? Want as much of the indie rock goodness as you can handle? Then SPOONX3 is the fest for you.

Fans can catch three nights of Spoon rocking out at Stubb’s Amphitheater in the band’s hometown of Austin, Texas July 9-11.

Um, sounds like the best three nights of my life, ever!

Britt Daniels and the guys have invited a few of their favorite bands to come along for the fun as special guests. July 9 will feature …And You Will Know Us By the Trail of the Dead and Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears. July 10 features Low and Dale Watson. The last night of the mini-fest includes performances by Atlas Sound and The Strange Boys.

Spoon is currently working in the studio on the band’s as-yet-untitled seventh album, the follow-up to 2007’s Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga. SPOONX3 will feature a sneak peek at some of the new material.

For die-hard Spoon fans that want to catch every second of Spoon plus all the special guests, a three-day pass will set you back $75. Individual tickets are $28 each.

Dangit, why couldn’t Spoon have formed somewhere near Pollstar‘s headquarters in lovely Fresno, Calif.?!

In addition to SPOONX3, Spoon will be performing at Merge Records’ 20th Anniversary Fest July 22-26 at the Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, N.C.

Which band would you hand over hard-earned cash to see three nights in a row?
